Off Grid – Technologies for Empowering CHange (Open)
The Off Grid Tech course is intended to provide a foundation for making the transition to living off the grid.
The lessons and activities are designed to provide practical and theoretical support for those interested in pursuing an off-grid lifestyle. We will address such topics as possible sources of practical, renewable, Off Grid energy (hydrogen, solar thermal technology, photovoltaics, biomass), supplying water to a building without any connections to the grid, the principles and criteria of bioclimatic architecture, how to keep a permaculture garden (in collaboration with Accademia Italiana di Permacultura), and how to make compost.
Thinking of ecology as a complex concept, we intend to embrace aspects related to technology and environmental protection, both relational and personal. Each lesson will be followed by various types of activities with the goal of experiencing an ecology of group dynamics.
We will present the concept of the Off Grid paradigm in a clear, accessible way to a wide audience consisting of more than just technical professionals.
