He studied political philosophy and completed a master’s degree in environmental and renewable energy. He is active in the non-profit sector as a planner and educator in areas concerning societal and environmental interaction.
He graduated from the University of London’s Wye College in 1997 with a degree in Agricultural business management. Since 2000, he has been the manager of the family agri-tourism farm Biologica – which boasts a grove of 1,200 olive trees. Projects and passions: the donkey, the tractor of the future.
He was born 32 years ago in Arezzo, the town where he now resides. He graduated from the University of Florence in 2006 with a degree in Engineering for the Environment and the Territory, specializing in energy systems and interactions between machines and the environment. He was a researcher for two years at the Stecco department of Engineering of Florence where he focused on the energy optimization of industrial machinery and concentration systems for solar cooling. He has worked with La Fabbrica del Sole since 2008, becoming a technical manager in 2009. He works mainly with heating and cooling systems, collaborating on research and development and co-operative international projects. He played volleyball for 14 years, but now opts for other sports such as tennis or canoeing. When he can travel, he enjoys rigorous hiking and backpacking.
He received his degree in Environmental Engineering, specializing in water purification and modeling aquatic ecosystems. He has years of experience in the renewable energy sector, and has installed over 6MW of photovoltaic systems throughout his career. He is currently the technical manager of Exergy Srl, a company that deals with large photovoltaic systems. He loves photography, “well-played” music, and fishing.
After graduating with a degree in Conservation of Culture and Environmental Heritage, she completed two master’s programs on community planning and management of participatory processes for local development. She has worked as a planner in the non-profit sector, within La Fabbrica del Sole as a planning and education coordinator, and serves as the president of the non-profit organization of the same name, through which she has designed and managed community volunteer projects and environmental curriculums throughout the region in collaboration with the University of Siena. She loves the sea, books, and is a committed vegetarian.
She has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Perugia and has obtained an educational certificate in the design of renewable energy systems. She has been collaborating with La Fabbrica del Sole since 2011. She is very creative and passionate about sewing and working with felt. She has attended modeling and accessory design classes.
She has a degree in Architecture from the University of Rome with a year of training at the Belleville School of Architecture and the French Institute of Urban Planning. She worked in the urban sector where she drafted some of the structural plans of the province of Arezzo and Livorno. She then specialized in the field of energy certification with SACERT, and has since worked at La Fabbrica del Sole, dealing principally with the integration of renewable energy systems and architectural design. She is currently the president of La Fabbrica del Sole s.c.a.r.l., and in addition to architecture, she loves good food and hiking.
He obtained a degree in Economic Development and International Cooperation and got involved with the guidance of an Egyptian renewable energy start up immediately upon graduation. When he returned home, he coordinated the research and development of La Fabbrica del Sole and went on to become its managing director, commercial director, and project manager. For years now he has focused his energy to perfect both technical and economic energy model to power off-grid buildings.
She studied to be a social worker at the University of Florence, but soon realized that it was not the path for her. She began working as a teacher in 1978 and hasn’t stopped since. She loves the creativity, the kids, and the friends that her job affords.
He was born in Arezzo, in the heart of Tuscany. From here, he became dedicated to good food, the search for genuine products, and the respect of natural cycles when selecting raw materials. His fascination with Etruscan civilization led him to begin a career in experimental archaeology. He operates at an international level as a co-founder of Il Centro Del Suono, “The Sound Center”. He loves good food with good company, and his dream is to live in a modern tribe by respecting human naturalness for the realization of an ancient future.
He has a degree in physics and a PhD in chemistry with a thesis on the optimization of air and hydrogen from solar energy. He is a founding member of La Fabbrica del Sole, and is currently serving as the president of the scientific committee. He is one of the inventors of the Off Grid Box and the hydrogen pipeline that runs beneath Arezzo. His dream is to live on an island, completely off the grid.
Psychologist, psychotherapist, and graduate of the academy of fine arts, he attended the Institute for Social Ecology in Vermont where he began his commitment to social ecology. He is a lecturer in various courses and masters’ programs, and a leader of personal growth groups and art studios, collaborating with both public and private entities. He works to promote participatory processes and community empowerment both in Italy and abroad, and is one of the founders of La Fabbrica del Sole.
He currently lives in Bucine (Arezzo), and graduated from the agriculture and forestry industry. He completed a post graduate course to train as a qualified technician for energy saving technologies. After working at a construction company for 13 years, he now works at La Fabbrica del Sole as a qualified installer of renewable energy systems. He loves our planet and cares deeply about the delicate balance between man and nature.
She has a degree in philosophy with a thesis on Collingwood Jonas and Hannah Arendt. She holds a master’s degree in corporate social responsibility and completed a specialized course on the development of multiple intelligences and assertive communications. She has published two books, one of political pedagogy and one on Bhopal and Marghera, for working and playing with children with a teaching approach centered around the exploration of nature, slowness, stories, and joy. She loves books, the sea, beautiful dreams, and the color purple.
Silvia Di Ponte
She has a master of science in environmental management and policy from the university of Lund, Sweden, and a degree in political science focused in economic policy from the University of Florence. She is passionate about sustainable development and growth and has done research on market-based climate change solutions such as emissions trading and border carbon adjustments. She concluded her research experience at the European Commission Joint Research Center, working with La Fabbrica del Sole on design and environmental issues. She loves good food, reading, travel, and immersing herself in nature.
Actress, Music ArTherapy in the Globality of Languages, Gestalt counselor. She graduated cum laude with a degree in political science, specializing in globality of languages. She deals with art, education, and training and has developed integrated methods for self-development with an emphasis on overcoming discomfort, in Italy and abroad. She works with public and private institutions and all levels of schools. She promotes projects for political peace and equal opportunities. She loves nature and social ecology. She works directly with Stefana Guerra Lisi and is the professor of theater in the globality of languages for masters’ courses at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome.
Eileen A. Christie
Graduate of the Fine Arts Academy of Urbino (Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino). Painter, artist and craftsperson working in many different disciplines and techniques. Moreover, she is fascinated by the world of nature and plants that she observes through agriculture, natural remedies of popular traditions and creative cooking. She lives according to the principles of self-sufficiency, up-cycling, recycling and permaculture.
